Independence celebrations 2025 slated to be spectuclar

Chairman of the National Independence Committee, Rodney Small, is urging people across St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), to attend the various activities to mark the nation’s 46th anniversary of political independence.

Among these activities are the National Schools Rally on October, 23, and the National Independence Parade on October, 27.

Speaking at a press briefing last Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Small said that directly after the National Schools Rally, a cultural parade will leave from Victoria Park for the streets of Kingstown “showcasing our identity”.

“So, that is something I want persons to look forward to. The storyline for that is ‘Time longer than twine’ and the artistic director for that is Mr. Jaykel Mars, so we are looking to put about 300 persons within that parade with a storyline that represents us as Vincentians,” Small told media personnel attending the press conference.
