Barbados lifts WIFA Women’s Title

Barbados won the 2025 Windward Islands Football Association’s Senior Women’s Tournament under floodlights at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex last Saturday, September 20, 2025 with a 2-1 victory over Saint Lucia.

In the tense, action packed clash, Rianna Cyrus broke the deadlock in the 45th minute for Barbados, who went into the half time break enjoying a 1-nil lead. However, into the second half, Krysan St Louise equalized for Saint Lucia in the 60th minute, and in added time – in the 104th minute- Taryn Sutherland found the back of the Saint Lucia goal to give the Bajans a 2-1 victory and the 2025 WIFA title.

In the third-place play-off also on Saturday, St Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Dominica 3-nil to place third.

Azumi Quow opened the scoring for the hosts in the 11th minute, Asanteni Charles added a second in the 38th minute, and sealed the result for the Vincentians with her second and St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ third goal in the 72nd minute, to give the home side their 3-nil victory.
