Top crime fighting cops receiving threats

Threats have been issued to members of the police team investigating the triple homicide that took place in Belmont on Friday, May, 16, 2025.

Yesterday, Monday, May 26, Kesroy Ryan, 25, appeared before the Serious Offences Court charged that he murdered Lesline Davis, 69, Demeon Cumberbatch,38, and Joel Browne 36.

He is also accused of attempting to murder Bancroft Abbott, Lorna Davis, and Hayden Ballantyne, during the same incident and has been remanded until Monday, June, 2, 2025.

Before Ryan appeared in court on Monday, the police high command held a press briefing in the conference room of the Kingstown barracks where Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) with responsibility for crime fighting, Trevor “Buju” Bailey, told the media that threats have been made against him and another member of the team investigating the triple homicide and triple wounding.

“…we have received, and I could tell St Vincent and the Grenadines, we have received some threats on our lives, but that will not deter us from finding you and bringing you to justice,” Bailey declared.

“Whoever you are, you cannot scare us. That’s what we do for a living. We investigate crimes, and we are not afraid of criminals,” ACP Bailey stated during the press briefing that was carried live by two local media entities.

“…you wasted a phone call…you really wasted your phone calling, sending a message like that to me,” Bailey added.
