Fumigation and security work continue at GHS

Another round of fumigation at the St Vincent Girls High School (GHS) continued over the weekend as authorities intensified the fight against the flea invasion in the area.

Since the start of Term 2 earlier this year, students at the temporary facilities have been inundated by flees brought on by a growing population of stray dogs.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, parents were informed via WhatsApp that school was dismissed early and would remain closed for the remainder of the week to allow the premises to be fumigated.

This closure followed another in late January after numerous complaints were made by students and staff.

A subsequent weekend fumigation exercise was done and was followed up by additional work on the weekend of March 2, 2025.
