Vincy artiste stepping onto the international stage

Jimi Hendrix, one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in the history of popular music once said, “music is a safe kind of high”.

And that in a nutshell is how local singer, Kennie Montana, born Kennie Isles, feels about his own productions and success, high.

Kennie has become known for his songs, “Niceness” (Nu 80s Riddim), “Young Boy (Nu Wave Riddim), and “Horn in yo sleep (Blast off Riddim), and has been touring and performing regularly since his professional debut onto the music scene in 2023.

“For me it’s been amazing because I knew from the start of my musical Journey if I put in the work ahead of this time, life would get sweeter one day. That time has arrived,” Kennie told SEARCHLIGHT on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

When SEARCHLIGHT first spoke to Kennie in 2023, the son of Ken and Nievet Isles was one of a new bunch of local artistes making waves in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

Since then, he has not stopped, and has had several experiences and gigs that he says will remain with him for the rest of his life. Among them, a performance in the United Kingdom (UK).

“With God and patience, anything is achievable. I just did my first international show in England and I was specially invited to meet the country’s High Commissioner at an Independence dinner as a diplomat,” Kennie shared.
