Kartel meets medical professionals and entertainers in SVG

JAMAICAN ENTERTAINER Adidja Azim “Vybz Kartel” Palmer is currently in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), meeting with medical personnel, personal trainers and entertainers , among others.

Last week Palmer created a buzz on social media among the Vincentian community when he said he was looking at three countries from which to choose to obtain medical care for his Graves’ Disease, among them, SVG.

Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disorder that can cause hyperthyroidism, or overactive thyroid.

“With Graves’ disease, your immune system attacks your thyroid gland, causing it to make more thyroid hormones than your body needs. As a result, many of your body’s functions speed up,” the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), explains on its website.

Palmer and his entourage, which includes his Turkish fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, arrived at the Argyle International Airport (AIA) on Friday night,

August 16, onboard a private jet and was greeted by local officials including Press Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister, Shevrel “Candyman” McMillan.

Palmer’s visit has again sent tongues wagging as it did last week, as his interactions with locals over the weekend in places like the department store Jax Enterprises Limited and the mineral springs in Belair were highlighted on social media.

He also visited a local gym where he had a session with a local personal trainer while he interacted with Road March King, Shertz “Problem Child” James. Other persons seen with the entertainer include landscaper ‘Ras’ John whom Palmer described as his “biggest fan in Vincy”, and Vincentian track and field coach, Michael “Lord Have Mercy” Ollivierre. Ollivierre is the father of Jamaican entertainer Oje Ken Ollivierre better known as “Protoje”.

On Monday morning, Palmer had breakfast with Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves. This week, he will be meeting with local doctors, among them an Endocrinologist.

An endocrinologist is responsible for evaluating diabetes, bone loss, and a range of hormonal issues, including hormones from the pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid glands, as well as reproductive organs.

“Kartel is loving the hospitality of the Vincentian people,” someone close to the artiste told SEARCHLIGHT on Monday.

The entertainer’s choice of SVG for medical attention continues to be a subject of debate on social media with some persons linking his decision to politics.
