Escaped Grenada prisoners nabbed in Petit Bordel

Three men who escaped lawful custody from the police in Grenada were earlier this week recaptured by the police in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Ron Mitchell, 30 years old and unemployed; Trevon Robertson, a 25 year old farmer; and 23 year old unemployed Atiba Stanislaus all of Paradise, St Andrew, Grenada were recaptured at about 4:35 p.m on Wednesday February 21, 2024, during an operation by members of the Narcotics and Rapid Response Units.

Two other Grenadian nationals were also apprehended during the police operation in North Leeward, the police said in a release.

The three recaptured men had been in police custody in Grenada on charges of rape, robbery with violence, and other serious offences. They were being held at the South St George Police Station, located in Grand Anse, Grenada, when they escaped on Monday, February 19, 2024.

The men were still in the custody of the RSVG police up to yesterday, February 22, 2024 but police from Grenada were in SVG in relation to this matter.

The RSVGPF has expressed thanks to the general public for their assistance and cooperation in apprehending the men. A press conference by the Grenada police that was scheduled for 3:00 p.m yesterday February, 22, 2024 during which it was anticipated the recapture of the three escapees would be addressed was cancelled.
