Estimates to be laid in Parliament December 19

The 2024 Estimates will be laid in Parliament on Tuesday December 19.

Word of this came from Deputy Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel when he spoke on NBC radio last week.

He said Cabinet has concluded its discussions with the various stakeholders in the preparation of the 2024 National Budget.

According to Minister Daniel, the Ministry of Finance is now putting together the final numbers for the 2024 Estimates.

On January 9 this year, Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves presented a $1.45 billion National Budget (Appropriation Bill) before Parliament.

The 2023 Budget was presented under the theme “Building Roads from Recovery to Resilience – Reducing Inequality, Protecting the Vulnerable, Driving Sustainable Development.”

The 2023 Budget represented an increase of 8.8 per cent over the 2022 Budget.
