Vincentian dies in Jamaica road accident
A Vincentian national is dead and a motorist in custody facing a charge of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision on the Dunn’s River main road in St Ann,Jamaica on Sunday.
The deceased is Desran Michael Gould, a store attendant of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
It is reported that about 11:50 a.m., Gould was a passenger in a Toyota Probox motor car that was travelling toward Ocho Rios, when a Toyota Rav 4 drove into its path, causing a collision.
Several people, including Gould, were injured and taken to St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital.
He died while being treated.
The other injured people are in stable condition.
The 34-year-old driver of the Rav 4 was taken into custody. Radio Jamaica News reported that the licence of the driver is one month old.
