Stage set for fifth annual AMP awards

The fifth AMP Music Award, hosted by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Music Professionals (SVG AMP) will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at the Peace Memorial Hall beginning at 8 p.m.

The event will see awards presented in the categories of: Record of the Year, Best New Artiste, Songwriter of the Year, Disc Jockey of the year, Musician of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Producer of the Year, Best Live Band, Best Vocal Collaboration, Gospel Single of the Year, Calypso Single of the Year, Soca Single of the Year, Best Christmas Single, Ragga Soca Single of the Year, Dancehall Single of the Year, Best Music Video and Hip Hop/ R & B Single of the Year.

Up for nomination in the Best New Artiste category are: Grabba Finesse, Jahleel Cruickshank, Joanna Christopher, Keeving Jackson and Shena Collis.Legendary Awards, Special Honours and Lifetime Awards will also be presented to artistes for their commitment and contribution to the art form over the years.

SVG AMP is inviting all patrons of Vincentian music and culture to the event.Admission to the fifth AMP Music Award is free and patrons are asked to dress elegantly.
