Shafiqua Maloney named MVP at US outdoor track meet

Vincentian Shafiqua Maloney was on Saturday named the MVP at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor final.This, after she registered double victories in the 200 and 400 metres.

Maloney clocked a wind-aided 23.17 seconds, to win the 200m and overcame her rivals again in the 400m, with a convincing 53.19 seconds clocking.Representing Southern Illinois University, Maloney, who is a second year at the institution, was also a member of both 4×100 and 4x400m winning teams.

Maloney was part of the St Vincent and the Grenadines quartet that gained a goal medal in the Under-20 females’ 4 x 400m team at the 2018 Junior Carifta Games, held in the Bahamas, over the last Easter weekend.
