Prosecutor warns defendant who threatened him – ‘Keep your distance!’

A prosecutor at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court has warned the person who threatened his life to keep his or her distance.

On Monday, September 4, just before the start of court at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, prosecutor Delroy Tittle ordered that all defendants be seated inside the courtroom.

He told the court that he had been made aware that one of the defendants had made a threat on his life.

Although he did not point out the culprit, the experienced police officer warned that “it would be best if he or she keep their distance; it would be in his or her best interest.”

The prosecutor also stated that he was given a job to do and he acts on what he is instructed to do.

Magistrate Rickie Burnett advised Tittle not to allow anyone to deter him from doing his job and also stated that in most cases, the threats were made by individuals within the same district.

“You were given a job; you are not to allow anybody to hinder you from doing your work,” the magistrate further stated.

Tittle, who has been a police officer for 20 years and a prosecutor for three of those, however, stated that he was not afraid of the threats.

He has served in all districts of SVG, with the exception of Mustique.(CJ)
