Man charged in connection with murder of teenager
Medford Caine, a 49-year-old resident of Lowmans Leeward, has been charged in connection with the murder of Katisha Bess, 18, of the same address.
Caine appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday, but was not required to plead to the indictable offence.{{more}}
Senior prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche informed Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias that 15 witnesses were expected to be called to testify in the matter.
On Wednesday, July 1, Bessâ lifeless body was discovered by forest rangers at the Kings Hill Forest Reserve in Diamond. She had sustained injuries to her head and neck.
The young woman had left her home at Great House, Lowmans Leeward, on the morning of Monday, June 29, but never returned.
The matter has been adjourned to October 13 for Preliminary Inquiry. (KW)
