On Saturday, November 28, 2009, just after 9 p.m., the 15-year-old received a gunshot to his side, which has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Yvette Jack, Williams’ mother, told SEARCHLIGHT her son was hanging with a group of friends from the neighbourhood when he received the bullet.

She believes the bullet was not intended for him.

To address his injury, Jack has to find TT$110, 000 as soon as possible.

This is the cost of an MRI scan and chartered flight from St.Vincent and the Grenadines to Trinidad and Tobago.

Jack laments that adding to her distress is the fact that she has another son at home who is crippled as a result of cerebral palsy.

“I basically can’t even start describing how I feel. It’s not easy to think that my two children are home in wheel chairs,” said Jack.

Jack, accompanied by daughter Dynecia Penniston, is appealing to the business community to assist her son.

She said she is utilizing the media to get the message out because she doesn’t want anyone to think her effort is a hoax.

The grieving mother said her son was scheduled to have an MRI scan on December 10 or December 14, but was unable to make the appointment because of lack of funds to foot the bill.

Jack disclosed that anyone interested in assisting Williams can place their contribution at the National Commercial Bank in Account: 133226. (HN)
