News man’s son stabbed about body

The son of Assistant Editor at the News newspaper, Duggie “Nose” Joseph, is thanking his lucky stars that he is alive after being stabbed several times about his body on August 8, 2009.{{more}}

Atiba Joseph, 20, received stab wounds to his collarbone, neck, forehead, buttocks and left side, which resulted in a punctured lung.

According to reports, Joseph and a man were engaged in an altercation at about 3am in the Villa area. The man is said to have left the scene, but returned later, after which Joseph is alleged to have been stabbed by a third person.

As a result of the incident, Joseph lost a lot of blood and persons responded by donating blood to the blood bank at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Joseph was released from the hospital on Wednesday evening. Up to press time on Wednesday, no arrests had been made in the matter.
