Culzac is charged with wounding PC 430 Orthwell John, of Arnos Vale, and resisting arrest by the said officer of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force on Tuesday, 23 June, 2009. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Culzac made headlines last week when it was reported that he was allegedly beaten by policemen who had searched a shop in Murray’s Village which he operates. Culzac’s encounter with the law enforcement officers caused some members of his Murray’s Village community to react angrily, even attempting to stop the officers from arresting Culzac.

Culzac was granted station bail of $2,000, with one surety. He will reappear at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on September 28, 2009. He was represented by Attorney Richard Williams.
