Man fined for trying to take prohibited goods into the prison

A 22 year old man of Old Montrose was fined $700 for attempting to take prohibited articles into His Majesty’s Prison, Kingstown. A police report states that Keevin Bibby was arrested on April 24, 2024, and charged with attempting to introduce into the penal institution 36 grammes of cannabis; one blue lighter; and 66 sheets of wrapping paper- prohibited articles, at around 10:45 a.m on April 25, 2025.

Bibby appeared before the Magistrate Court where he pleaded guilty and was fined EC$700.00. He had until May 3, 2024, to pay the fine or spend two months in prison.

Bibby also was given a suspended sentence of 84 days for a period of one year.
