Bequia man jailed for gun, ammunition possession

Tiquiado Williams, a 26-year-old unemployed resident of Bequia, will spend the next two years and three months in jail for charges related to firearm and ammunition possession.

He was arrested and charged on August 8, 2023 for theft of a firearm, possession of an illegal firearm and possession of 15 rounds of .9mm ammunition.

The offences occurred at Arnos Vale between July 21, 2023 at 2 am and 7:30 am on July 29, 2023.

Williams entered a guilty plea when he appeared in the Serious Offences Court. He was given a sentence of 12 months for the theft of the firearm, two years and three months for firearm possession and thirteen  months for the ammunition possession. The sentences will run concurrently.
