Man to pay $600 fine for handling stolen gas bottles

A labourer of Kingstown who pled guilty when he appeared in court on a charge of handling stolen goods was fined $600 to be paid by June 30, or face six months in prison.

In a release, the police said that 43 year old David Bennett was arrested on April 29 and charged with handling stolen goods.

He was accused of knowing or believed to have known that seven blue 20lb shell gas cylinders were stolen goods and dishonestly assisted in their disposal between 7:00 p.m on April 16 and 7:00 a.m on April 19, 2022.

Bennett acknowledged his guilt when he appeared in the Kingstown Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 3.
