Man guilty of indecent assault of 5-year-old jailed for 18 months

For committing acts of gross indecency and indecent assault against a child that is about one sixth his age, a Canouan man will be locked away for 18 months.

Ahkino Rhynd, 32, pleaded guilty before the Family Court on May 22, that he did, between April 1 and 30, at Canouan, incite a five-year-old to commit an act of Gross Indecency to wit, “By instructing her to suck his penis,” she being a child under the age of 15 years.

He also pleaded guilty to indecent assault, to wit, “By rubbing his penis on her vagina,” she being a girl under the age of 15 years.

Rhynd was sentenced to six months for the charge of gross indecency, and 18 months for the charge of indecent assault.

The two sentences are to run concurrently.
