SVG bag five gold medals at regional Junior Taekwondo Tournament

Hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines copped five gold medals when the second quarterly regional Junior Taekwondo Tournament was hosted by the Yom Chi Tae Kwondo Club last Saturday at the auditorium of the Bethel High School.{{more}}

Attaining the gold medals were Neo Williams (Boys 6 to 8), Shakeys Fredericks (Girls 10 to 12), Lagnarda Soso (Girls 13 to 15), Nal Straker (Boys 17 to 18) and Delrine Gaymes (20 and Over Females).

St Vincent and the Grenadines garnered 25 medals, inclusive of 10 silver and 10 bronze.

Meanwhile, Barbados captured six gold medals, two silver and five bronze and St Lucia – one gold.

Competition was in 12 age brackets, with a total of 61 competitors putting their skills on show.

SVG had the largest representation – 41, while Barbados had 19 and St Lucia – 1.

The next stop for the tournament is in St Lucia, during the half of 2017.(RT)
