Political activist to return to court on February 12

Political activist Luzette King is expected to appear before the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on February 12, 2016.

King, who should have appeared in court on Tuesday, was granted an adjournment after her lawyer Kay Bacchus- Browne indicated to the court, through mail,{{more}} that she had another matter before the High Court.

When she reappears, King will be expected to answer to the charge of “causing inconvenience to the public in the exercise of public rights, to wit, by sitting in the public road hindering the free flow of traffic contrary to Section 282 of the Criminal Code of Chapter 171 of the revised edition of the laws of St Vincent and the Grenadines 2009.”

King was apprehended by police after she sat at the side of the road outside of the electoral office after they instructed her to move.

She still plays a leading role in the protest being held outside of the electoral office.
