Ottley Hall man allegedly shoots stepfather in thigh
The 25-year-old, who appeared at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court yesterday, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Jordan on April 13, 2014 at Ottley Hall.
SEARCHLIGHT understands that on the date in question, there was an argument between the two men. It is alleged that during the altercation, St John left the scene and returned with a gun and shot Jordan in the upper left thigh.
Jordan spent three days at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
In objecting to bail, Corporal Gideon Black told the court that the police are still trying to recover the firearm used in the shooting.
He further stated that the men live about 50 feet from each other at Ottley Hall.
“There are too many guns now in society. We have to protect our citizens,â Black said.
Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias upheld Corporal Blackâs grounds and remanded St John in custody until May 27, 2014. (KW)
