Chewitt, 24, of Ratho Mill appeared at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court yesterday and was not allowed to plea to the indictable charge.
Police say that Creese was shot in his jaw.
The prosecution objected to Chewittâs bail, on the grounds that he has been on the run from police since the incident and was only located over the weekend.
The Court was also informed that during his time on the run, Chewitt was shot at.
Assistant director of Public Prosecutions Colin John told the court that he should also be kept in custody for his own safety.
The matter has been adjourned to July 4 for hearing.
