Labourer of Owia facing murder charge

Alexis Baptiste, a labourer of Owia and Chateaubelair has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Dillon John of Campden Park.{{more}}

Baptiste appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was not required to plead to the charge before him.

Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias transferred the matter to the Serious Offences Court for February 13, when a Preliminary Inquiry date will be set.

According to police, John’s body was discovered by police in the Fanny Mountains area on the upper Leeward coast on February 5, after it was reported that he fell to his death the day before.

It is also alleged that John, a former student of the St Vincent Grammar School, was involved in an altercation with someone in the Fanny Mountains.
