Teenager charged with unlawful sexual intercourse

Anthony John, a 17-year-old Lauders resident, was on Friday, August 12, hauled before the Kingstown Magistrates Court to answer an unlawful sex charge.{{more}}

John is charged with having sex with a girl from another Caribbean island, who is under the age of 15, at Lauders on July 29, 2011.

He was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 and was ordered to report to the Biabou police station on Mondays. He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and not to have any contact with the girl.

The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Family Court for hearing on September 15, 2011.
