Adams was sentenced last Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Criminal Assizes at the High Court in Kingstown. On May 13, 2009, a jury of his peers found Adams, 48, guilty by a unanimous decision.

Lawyer Arthur Williams had represented Adams throughout most of the trial, but later withdrew his services because Adams refused to follow his instructions. Prosecutors Carl Williams and Joezel Jack presented the case for the crown.
