Mother charged with assault

A mother, who allegedly engaged in a fist fight with her child’s teacher, has been charged with assault.{{more}}

Sion Hill resident, Tiffany Smith, 23, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault causing bodily harm on Maxine Bailey and damage to property when she appeared before the Serious Offences Court on March 19, 2009. The matter has been transferred to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court for a May 11, 2009, hearing.

According to reports reaching SEARCHLIGHT, Smith is alleged to have gone to her child’s grade one classroom at the Kingstown Preparatory School on March 5th, 2009.

It is also alleged that Smith pushed open the door, which allegedly hit the teacher. A fight is said to have ensued between both women and had to be broken up by teachers and security personnel.

Smith is presently out on station bail. Lawyer Ronald Marks represents her in the matter. (KW)
