Man jailed for drug
Desron Griffith, a 32-year-old New Grounds man, is into a 28-month jail sentence. The penalty came last Wednesday when he pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge.
Griffith was arrested and charged May 5, this year, for possessing 49,486 grammes (109 pounds) of marijuana with intent to supply.{{more}}
He initially pleaded not guilty, but later changed his plea.George Smith
Griffith was sentenced to six months in February when he pleaded guilty to possessing 50 pounds of cannabis with intent to supply. He appealed that sentence and was granted bail.
While on bail, police executed a search warrant at Griffithâs home and found the stash of marijuana.
Griffith also pleaded guilty to possessing 5 rounds of .38 ammunition.
