A Searchlight Commemorative Article: Massive crowd witnesses the opening of Rabacca Bridge

A MASSIVE CROWD turned out to witness the opening of the (Yurumein/ Taiwan) Rabacca Bridge on March 28, 2007- with figures of 40,000 to 45,000 being mentioned.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the EC$ 8.5 million facility is more than just a structure of beauty and majesty, it is a spiritual symbol – one of unity among our people.

The Government of Taiwan contributed $5.4 million to the project while the remaining $3.5 million came from the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
