Awards presented in Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition 2017

Outstanding achievers were presented with the trophies and prizes when the 2017 St Vincent Brewery/FLOW/Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition came to an end last week Sunday at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

Taking the top award, the competition’s Most Valuable Player, was Shamic Roberts of the champion team Sion Hill Tallawahs.

Roberts was the competition’s leading wicket taker, accounting for 18 wickets, and also compiled 88 runs to the good.

Meanwhile, again in the spotlight at the awards, was Ceon Phillips of Nar Fren Dem, who copped the award for scoring the most runs – 295.

Delarno Woodley of second placed Bruce Law Chambers Smashers Inc, pipped Phillips in being adjudged the Best Wicketkeeper.

Also acknowledged was the Player of the Final – Erwin Williams of Sion Hill Tallawahs. Williams had 2 for 13, when he bowled and led his team’s reply with 44.

Rewarded for taking the best catch was Ian Bushay of Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz.

Apart from the players, awarded were the Best Manager, Most Loyal Spectator and Best Umpire.

Named the Best Manager was Smashers Inc’s Theresa Jack; Most Loyal Spectator, Harley Rawlins and Best Umpire, Clenton Woods.

And presented with the Most Disciplined Team award were Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem, and they too secured the Best Dressed Team award.
