Cash Money Investments – From vehicle rentals to best parts dealer

It started as a small rental business, operating from Middle Street, where Sailors Cycle Centre is now located.

Years later, responding to the demands of vehicle owners, Cash Money Investments came into being and has taken the top spot in the 2017 Best of SVG Awards as the Best Vehicle Parts Dealer.

“Cash Money Investments started in 2001; before that it started out as a rental business,” explains Xavier Bailey, one of nine employees.

“We started out mostly just importing used, genuine auto parts, and then from that we did new parts, then going on from there…”

Bailey is one of three family members among the attractively attired staff of Cash Money Investments that is located along the main Sion Hill Bay road. A welcoming atmosphere pervades the spacious, attractively laid out showroom and there’s a constant buzz of clients.

“We offer parts for most makes of vehicles,” notes Shari Howard, the administrative assistant.

“We try to keep the variety wide…we go out and look at the popular vehicles on the road and we try to bring those [parts] in.

“The inventory is very large… and still growing, because with every car boat [that arrives], over 100 vehicles are brought in, so we try to keep up.”

At present, Cash Money stocks parts for most makes of cars, jeeps and vans and also offers service parts and tires only for trucks, and some service oil for bikes.

It also no longer imports vehicles for individuals, opting instead to import and sell a limited number of vehicles itself and offering a full-time mechanic service to these clients.

“We’d rather you deal with us than go to another mechanic,” says Howard, who has been employed with the business for the past eight years, ever since leaving college.

Given the increasing congestion in Kingstown, she sees their location as a plus for the business.

“For people to come all the way here, it says a lot for us as a business, because we do a lot of sales daily and it just goes to show that we’re providing a good service for people.”

Howard lists the quality of their customer service, combined with competitive prices and availability of parts, among the reasons that decided the public’s choice of Cash Money Investments as the best parts dealer in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“We do work hard; sometimes I would pass late and I would see my boss is still here working.

“We try to keep our prices competitive… as a staff we’re always busy … so we appreciate when people see that and we hope that it continues that way,” Howard states.

Cash Money is open from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday and 8.30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturdays; however, “once the door is unlocked, you could come in.”
