Mr Akeem Gumbs

They say that lightning does not strike the same place, but it has done so in the Gumbs family. The entire family would like to extend congratulations to Mr Akeem Gumbs, son of John and Beatrix Gumbs of Vermont, a Vincentian national who left his country in 2009 to further his studies in computer science at the College of St Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, USA. He is a former student of the St Vincent Grammar School and the St Vincent Community College.

Not to be outdone by his brother, Mr Petrus Gumbs, Akeem graduated with honours and the prestigious award of Summa cum laude, with a cumulative GPA 3.94 from his peers of 150 from the College of St Scholastica. Akeem intends to pursue his Masters in Information Technology Leadership, while continuing his internship.

During his four years tenure as an undergraduate, he worked as a database administrator intern for Health Partners, a leading provider of health care in Minnesota. He performed quality assurance tasks, as well as database optimization tasks.
