God still calls us through His Son to transform our lives

Christmas Message from Rev. Shakika Q.M. Fraser, District Superintendent  SVG District of the Wesleyan Holiness Church

The Christmas story reminds us that with God nothing is impossible. This theme resonates throughout the Holy Scriptures and church history, reminding us of God’s omnipotence and His ability to transform the seemingly insurmountable into the possible. In the prophecy of Isaiah chapter 40, God promised to make difficult paths straight, and to level mountains and valleys.

This imagery symbolizes God’s intention to remove barriers between Himself and humanity, offering us direct access to His presence.

In the Old Testament, mountains are significant and are where encounters with God often took place. Yet, through Jesus Christ, God has made His presence accessible to all, without the need for physical ascension. This is a powerful reminder that God desires to dwell with us and within us.

The miraculous birth and survival of Jesus, born of a virgin and escaping Herod’s tyranny, exemplifies God’s ability to accomplish the impossible. This event, along with Jesus’ ministry and resurrection, underscores the reality that God can do the extraordinary in our lives. We are encouraged to trust in God’s promises, knowing that He can bring about miracles in our own circumstances.

There are so many misfortunes around us that seem not to have an end, so many things that seem out of control, so many aspirations that seem far-fetched and dreams that have been side railed.

As we navigate life’s challenges, we are reminded that God’s power is not limited by our human understanding. He invites us to dream big and to believe that He can exceed our expectations.

This Christmas season, let us hold on to the hope that God offers, trusting that He can do more than we can ask or imagine.

On behalf of my family and the Wesleyan community here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we wish you a blessed and Christ filled Christmas and every blessing for 2025.
