Good-Bye Labour, RIP ULP

IT IS AMAZING how time flies so quickly and not very much seems to be changing.

Thirty years ago was de last time ah went to Par-liar-mint. Was in 1995, but interestingly de Awe-position leader was Doctor de Comered Gone-soft, and he was full of energy tabling ah No-Confidence Mo’shun to remove de den Awe-tornknee General. P.R. Campbell from office. PR had to step down of course and give way to Hon. Car-Lie Do-Gun who delivered and executed creditably. NDP had wasted down quite ah bit and after 16 years, allow space foh de smooth talking Gone-soft to manover his way legitimately to Par-liar-mint. And foh de next twenty five years it was Gone-soft fo Tea, Breakfast and Dinner. What is amazing 25 years later who is back, as leader of de Awe-position, smoothtalking again?

But Lie-Za firmly believe dat our people could deal wid long serving Go-venom- mint. It is in our DNA.

Whenever we would have had enough, we simply blow dem away, Mitchell had won (15-0) in 1989, people say was Owe-Be-Yah. Twenty-five years after Mitchell, Dr Fry-dey came last year like ah Volcano and blow away Ralph and de entire ULP (14-1).

Right now thank God foh grand-children. Ralph is having fun baby-sitting and many sleepless nights.

My girl does Lie sometimes but not all de time.

She now has an explanation foh all dis erratic behaviour in our people. Food! What yuh eat and way it grow.

She is ah home grown “Ahgran- ah-mess” she mixes all de animal feces and put around her plants and reaps de biggest crops. However she is adamant dat we are by nature ah volcanic people, meaning we sit quietly foh long periods and den we start acting up, spurting gas and aggregate, den we erupt or behave mad like our La Soufrere. Lie-Za reads. She is sceptical dat much of our food dat we grow here is often nourished and over nourished by very heavy minerals within de volcanic soil, she lists dem all. Elements such as silicon, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium. Therefore, volcanic soils, formed from the weathering of volcanic rocks and ash, aid the recovery of impacted eco-systems after an eruption and enhancing the productivity of agricultural lands. I personally remember de late Freddie Olliverre an Agriculturist and reputable Farmer, warning local farmers not to use some of de imported chemical fertilizer in our local (volcanic) soil because some of de stuff are already dey from de local volcano.

So ah asked me girl when does she expect another land-slide elect-sun. She said food or no food, eat or doh eat, dey are two other factors. De sooner ULP could get rid of Ralph or Ralph could get rid of himself, and allow de ULP to pick ah team of leaders and allow de real leader to emerge. And secondly dey’s so much enquiries hanging over de ULP corrupt faction dat we might very well see ah new Party in de making. But as of now Good-bye Labour! RIP ULP!. And wid dat is gone ah gone again One Love Bassy. .
