Back To Work Spiritual Baptists

Back To Work Spiritual Baptists

TWO NIGHTS AGO ah turned on my‘Sankey’ model TV, but dey was neither sound nor signal, de TV gone dead. De gentleman from whom ah bought dat TV, was Steve King who had generously given me ah good deal, and it served foh ah few years well. Ah think de TV conking out was de reality of his death correction,

his brutal murder resonated strongly. Steve was gun-down while relaxing in de porch, his fear-foh-it spot in his home in Green Hill/Bow-wood Mountain slopes, where Peace and Quiet abounded. We are cousins, great-grand-sons of two of de Gabriel brothers, Charles and Edward.

We shared ah quiet family tie and always greeted each other as “Cuzz.” He never failed to spread de Love and Kindness by giving me ah decent discount whenever we did business. He was quiet on de inside, loud and lively on de outside, had ah great cents-ah-humour and knew some hard adult (sea-man) jokes. One of my most lasting memories of Steve was last year, while driving thru Bow-wood, there he was relaxing in his arm-chair as usual, one leg was in bandage and elevated. Ah enquired about de foot, to be told dat he had ah “blood clot” and in his cheerful, humour-filled self he said: “ De doctor told me it is something out ah Jah-mek-her!

We had ah most beautiful conversation. Then ah got serious and asked him what ever happened to dat quiet lickle Gospel Hall Sunday School boy named Steve King. He said : “ Ah coming to dat!” In his own language, he told me he was having regular visits from members of ah church, dat he had confessed his sins and had become “A Born Again Christian!” Den I asked him how was his soul. “ My Soul?” he asked, “ It is well wid my Soul!”

Amen! May Steve’s soul rest peacefully wid God.

And may we all “in Jesus name” come to-gather to battle dis Spiritual War-fear dat is stalking de land.

SPIRITUAL BAPTIST DAYWHAT NEX

Talking bout Spiritual War-Fear in de land, ah have great respect foh de challenges our Police undergoing, helplessly fighting crime and violence in our Blessed Land. But dis is no ordinary physical battle, de shooting maybe, but de real battle is highly spiritual.

Evil spirits, demonic forces occupying our streets, terror-i-sin de land. Sound crazy eh, but de criminal minds are being influenced by Satan, de devil, Mr Evil Spirits himself, moving Hey! Dey! and Every-Wey! And guess what? Presently evil is rampant in our high offices, occupying high positions. While all dis satanic practices continue to spread, de Church dat has de weapon to mek demons flee, remain silent. Every day, morning noon and night church Ministers and Pastors on TV; dey tun social commentators but none ah dem dare counter any matter dat will offend de Pry-mini-star.

Lie-Za asking how come some churches open on Sundays only, no more Sunday School. What has become of Open Air Meetings at street corners and village squares. What ever happen to de Spiritual Baptist Bells? Demons are terrified wid dat Bell! No more Spiritual Messenger ringing de Bell four-day-mornings.

No more clapping of hands, beating de tambourine or drums, spiritual dancing, jumping and shaking. Put on allyuh Spiritual Armour! Congratulations to Spiritual Baptists on its official inauguration of Spiritual Baptist Day. De celebrations are over, Back to de work of de Lord. And wid dat is gone ah gone again.

One Love Bassy
