Needed: More Butchers in de police

While some young and irresponsible, trigger-happy Policemen continue to use excessive and unnecessary force, killing and beating up ‘pon innocent young people, pulling down de good name ah de Force and SVG, de name Nigel Butcher, ah young Inspector deserves honorable mention foh an exemplary display of professional policing in ah cry-sis situation.{{more}}

Searchlight carried ah story last week, way Inspector Butcher, on his way from de station, noticed two young men from Bagga, behaving completely out ah order, blocking de street and cussing, seemed like dey had too much to drink at de wedding dey attended earlier.

De Inspector called on dem to behave dem-self and is den dey started to ley-go bad-wud pon de Officer. De story said he came out his vehicle, identified himself as ah Policeman but dat like it made matters worse, de men dem started to square off to pelt de armed Officer wid de MT beer and sham-pain bottles in dey possession, calling on each other to buss his “pass-word” head! Ah very provoking scene.

Here is where ah want to Big Up Inspector Butcher foh containing himself, showing great restraint, he refused to fight ignorance wid (gun) fire, he refused to harm de guys who were just about ready to attack. Had he pumped ah bullet in one ah dem in defence, no water would ah wash de Inspector’s name from de list of Police Murderers. De story in de papers hinted dat in Courts de men showed profound remorse, no doubt when dey sober-up dey realized how lucky dey were to be alive, unharmed. Wid another trigger happy Raw-Paid Response or Black Squad Cop, dey might ah been dead like so many others dis year, who allegedly attacked de police and get shoot in dey head!

Inspector Butcher relied on infinite judgement and saved de Police Force and by extension de Nation of another Scandal-us Headline dat would ah read: “Police Inspector Butchers two more”! Inspector Butcher should get de Award foh de Police who best represents de Ideals of ah Police Force dat overs de ah-gun-noise-in problems rampant in our society. Thank yuh Bro Butch foh an excellent job.

STOP BEATING ON DE YOUTHS

Dey say de bad cow is one dat will allow de farmer to milk ah bucket full ah milk from its udder-breast, and de moment de farmer tek he eyes off de bucket, de cow will kick it to hell down and spill every drop. Yuh know ah just finish Big-up Police Inspector Butcher only to hear Police shoot ah Looshan dead, in self defence at Fancy; and Tuesday night Police raid my area in Murray Village and beat-up on Depter ah youngster who just happen to be one ah de model youth in our Community. Depter is into clean living, an athlete/cyclist who represented SVG abroad, as far as China; he’s ah lickle piece ah man, smaller dan Chanderpaul, so it would be wicked foh Police to ruff-up or beat-up pon Depter. He’s ah conscious youth, ah budding motor mechanic who services my vehicle. De Police could ah ask Hans King about Depter, de two ah dem tight, he is on Hans Calm-pain team and has endorsed Hans as de ULP candidate. Ah don’t want to run me mouth on de Police foh every lickle ting, but it is bothering to me and should be to Commissioner Miller, dat dey’s ah serious devise, is like war between de Police and de youths ah de land, except of course Inspector Butcher.

MY DAD IS HERE

Last week Sunday was Fathers Dey and yet again we get bad treated as Far-dahs, deservedly so. It pleases me to see young Mothers daily rising to de occasion, filling de void created by Far-dahs. Like de large number ah single, working mothers, literally holding de lickle ones’ hands, taking dem to school, and at noon, dey’re back to mek sure dey eat dey lunch. To every ten mothers ah would see one Far-dah doing dey duty. Yes Far-dahs we really lapsing, we need to spend time wid we children, and as Pastor I-sax M-foh-size in his message to Far-dahs on Sunday, we need to spend not just “quality time” but “quantity time” wid de kids. We shower de kids wid Nintendo Wii and I-pod to cover foh we absent-is-him and lack of good fathering. Maybe de answer to some ah de problems de youths facing, lies in our Quantity Time wid de children.

I-sax told of ah story on “parents day” when mothers and far-dahs accompany de kids to school to hear about de kids progress. In front ah de many mothers and one Far-dah who braved it, de teacher asked each child to tell de class sum-ting about dey Dad. “My dad is de CEO”, said Joe proudly, “and my dad is de Senior Supervisor,” Sue boasted, “ My dad is in charge ah de drinks factory” said cocky Ned, and is so dey went on and on glorifying dey Dad, till when it was Jerry’s time. Now his Dad didn’t hold ah big poze so he was embarrassed, but he had to muster courage, in ah nervous voice he fumbled on his few words, pointed to de only man in de room and told de class, “My Dad is here”! Dads way were yuh on dat day? And wid dat, ah gone again.
