Young athletics prospects make good of T&T outing
Some of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ most promising Under-15 and Under-18 Track and Field athletes made good of the opportunities given them to compete at the Mason Hall Police Club’s Juvenile Classic held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago on July 4 and 5, 2026.
On completion of the championships, the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) athletes had reeled in five gold, two silver and five bronze; a 12 medal haul.
Pouching gold were Jeremiah Wright in the under-18 Boys 1500 meters; Aria Carter in the under-18 Girls 400-m; Ethan Kent won the under-15 Boys high jump; while Jada Davis took the under-15 girls 800-m.
The under-18 mixed relay, featuring Leemore Ollivierre, Kelcie Strough, Henly Bushay and Kenisha Richards, also came St Vincent and the Grenadines’ way.
Taking silver were Ayah Stapleton in the under-18 Girls 800-m, and Roy George in the under-15 Boys 100-m.
George was also among the five bronze medallists as he docked third in the 200-m and was part of the mixed 4 x 100-m Relay team that also included Tyler Hercules, Jada Davis and Aria Carter, who placed was third in the event.
Meanwhile, Hercules secured an individual bronze medal in the Under-15 Boys 100-m.
Also, capturing a bronze medal was Danley Williams in the under-15 Boys 800-m, while Kelcie Strough took bronze in the under-18 Girls 100-m.
The Vincentian contingent to the championships also included Chester Morgan as coach, and manager Sorenya Miller.
