Athletes of George Stephens Secondary receive their rewards

Having received their plaudits on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, athletes and coaches at the George Stephens (Snr) Secondary School are looking ahead to the Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships next month.

The preliminaries of the annual Inter-Secondary School meet take place on March 13, and the finals are carded for March 20, 2025.

The George Stephens Secondary School held its inter-house meet on February 7, 2025 at the Irvin Warrican Playing Field, and last Wednesday, Red House (819 points); Yellow House (752 points); and Blue House (622 points) received their trophies and other accolades for placing first, second and third respectively.

At the meet which saw 30 events contested in the junior, intermediate, and senior divisions, Daisy Woods of Red House emerged as the Victrix Ludorum and the Victor Ludorum title was won by Dexter Baynes, also of Red House. They, received their medals along with Sebrina Martin from Yellow House, the girls junior champion; the junior male champions K’den Miller of Blue House and KJ Woodly of Yellow House; the intermediate girls title winner Daisy Woods of Red House; and boys intermediate title winner, Tyrese Hackshaw of Blue House.

Also receiving medals were Shemeka Simmons of Blue House who won the senior girls title; and Dexter Baynes of Red House won the boys senior title.
