Keytonna and Glemroy are Vita Malt stars of the Bethel High School
Two athletes of the Bethel High School are the Vita Malt stars of the week in the “Vitalizing St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Student Athletes” (VSSA) initiative.
This week the spotlight is on Keytonna Campbell and Glemroy Baptiste, who have impressive records on the track.
Keytonna, a 16-year-old student of Form 4 Technical Vocational is the 2022 silver medalist in the 200m and 400m at the Inter-Secondary Schools Athletic Championships. She was also her school’s Sportswoman of the year in 2022. In 2020, she was the Intermediate Champ; in 2019 the All-Leeward Sports Meet Junior Champ, as well as the Athletic Achievement Junior Champ.
In addition to track and field, Keytonna is actively involved in other sports. She is a member of Senior Netball and Football Teams, ITDAT Academy, the Volcanoes Football team and the SVG Female National Football Team.
When Keytonna is not playing sports, she enjoys Cosmetology and swimming.
Glemroy is a 12-year-old first form student. Prior to his arrival at the Bethel High School, at the Questelles Government School he was the Junior champ in 2018, and Intermediate champ in 2019. He won the sports award on graduation from the Questelles Government School in 2022.
Glemroy was recently awarded the 2023 Victor Ludorum at the Bethel High School.
When Glemroy isn’t on the track he enjoys Craft, Drawing, playing games and watching movies.
The objective of the VSSA initiative is to uplift youths by encouraging them to become involved in sports. The St Vincent Brewery Limited (SVBL) is doing this by conducting school visits, offering incentives to students in the form of medals and donations and recognising young athletes from various schools in the media.
