Marriaqua Village Cup heating up
Three matches were played in the Village Ram/ Memorial Funeral Home Village Cup last weekend at the Cane End Playing Field.
On Saturday, CMT Freeland One beat Cane End by six wickets. Cane End made 83 for 7.
Bowling for Freeland One, Shemroy Francois had 2 for 25.
Freeland One posted 87 for 4. Sunil Ambris and Kesworth Lewis, both made 16 each. For Cane End, Dwight Allen took 2 for 8.
On Sunday, Mount Pleasant overcame Riley by four wickets.
Riley were dismissed for 101, with Ovando O’ Brien making 16. Mount Pleasant’s bowling saw Jerando Jardine taking 3 for 18 and Benito Dean, 3 for 24.
Adolph Adams stroked 42, to lead Mount Pleasant to 103 for 6. Bowling for Riley, Terrance Baptiste had 2 for 2 and Marcus Mc Fee, 2 for 8.
And, Belair Sunset Strikers outplayed RSVG Police by 38 runs. Sunset Strikers posted 123 for 6, with Jabarri Cunningham scoring 47 and Kenrick Williams, 24.
RSVG Police in reply scored 85 all out, as Christopher John scalped 2 for 1, Kimron John, 2 for 16 and Travis Cumberbatch, 2 for 28.
