Carlos James reaffirms commitment to North Leeward’s sports development way

SENATOR CARLOS JAMES has reaffirmed his commitment to sports development in North Leeward.

This was exemplified by his financial input into the North Leeward cricket teams.

Expressing his pleasure in doing so, James told SEARCHLIGHT: “I am delighted to offer my continued support to the development of sports in North Leeward … This year, I provided sponsorship to the cricket teams in both the national first division competition and the female tournament”.

Not new to his contributions, James noted that, apart from aiding the teams, he is carrying on the legacy of the late Jules Anthony.

“I have been sponsoring cricket in North Leeward over the past decade, which started due to the initiatives of Jules Anthony… It is a delight to carry on the legacy of Jules Anthony through the advancement of cricket in North Leeward,” James commented.

James noted the work of the late Anthony and his contributions, “have paid dividends’.

The senator and deputy speaker of this country’s House of Assembly, related that over the years “quite a few of these players have gone on to national and windward selection”.

James thus, is welcoming the return, and is fully supportive of the Under -15 cricket to North Leeward.

“My corporate support augurs well for the social transformation of communities in North Leeward by way of sport-based youth development initiatives,” he re-emphasised.
