Currency deposits century in premier division cricket account
FORMER ST VINCENT and the Grenadines, Windwards and Combined Campuses and Colleges batsman- Romel Currency, hit the second century of the 2020 National Lotteries Authority premier division of the national cricket programme last weekend.
Currency’s 109, helped Gaurdian General Saints take first innings honours over 2019 champions FLOW Rivals at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.
Saints was 200/7, when the match petered out into a draw last Sunday. Olanzo Jackson had taken 4/89, bowling for Rivals.
Lindon James- 64, led Rivals’ total of 194 / 9. Jaheil Walters 2 / 20 and Jeremy Layne 2/ 46 were among the wickets for Saints.
But FLOW Radcliffe gained first innings over Police Two at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
Police Two made 188, batting first. Salvan Browne – 75.
Bowling for Radcliffe, Asif Hooper led from in front, taking 5/69 and Delorn Johnson had 2/22.
Radcliffe replied with 240 all out, recovering from 65/5.
Shamon Hooper and lower order batsman- Othneil Lewis, both made 47. Romario Bibby was the pick of Police Two’s bowling, taking 4/40.
Police Two, in their second innings got to 90/5, when play was called. Andrew Thomas- 40 not out.
Rasheed Fredericks had taken 3 / 29 and Asif Hooper 2 /28.
