Stubbs stands victorious in masters lone fixture
Stanley Browne’s Stubbs defeated Digicel Cato Heavy Equipment Glamorgan by 22 runs in the lone fixture played on Saturday at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, in the SVG Masters 20/20 cricket competition.
Stubbs made 165 for 4 from their 20 overs. Kissinger Mc Lean hit 47, Basil Andrews, 25 not out and Brian Alexander, 23.
Glamorgan’s reply stopped at 143 from their 20 overs.
Michael Stephens led with 33 and Dexter Small 24 not out, as Ricky Thomas helped himself to 2 for 15.
Sunday’s matches were not played because of weather conditions associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Karen.
Six matches are carded for this Sunday as the competition continues.
Davis Construction Bequia play Stanley Dalzell Park Hill at Park Hill from 10 a.m., while at the same time at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Stubbs face A R & D Trucking P’tani and at Buccament, and Mustique Masters take on Memorial Funeral Home North Leeward.
The 2 p.m. matches feature Sion Hill against Kirk Da Silva La Croix at Sion Hill, North East versus North Windward at Park Hill and at Buccament, COMPUTEC Belfongo against General Hardware Pastures.
