Smashers through to first division cricket semi-finals again
Smashers, last year’s National Lotteries Authority first division champions, but who chose not to be promoted to the premier division, are again into the semi-finals.
Smashers ousted Edward Conliffe/ Coreas Distribution Belfongo by three wickets, last Sunday at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
Belfongo, batting first, was dismissed for 132 in 24.2 overs, with Travis Cumberbatch making 20.
Bowling for Smashers, Kensworth Lewis grabbed 5 for 37, Deptor Culzac, 3 for 32 and Javid Harry, 2 for 24.
Kirton Lavia then stroked 34 and there were 21 extras conceded by Belfongo, as Smashers replied with 138 for 7 from 29.5 overs.
Vernardo Primus had figures of 5 for 56, bowling for Belfongo.
Smashers therefore joined Jules Anthony North Leeward and Keegan’s Bequia XI, as the other units in the semi-finals.
