BESCO-Pastures holds on to premiership lead
BESCO- Pastures on 23 points, is holding on to a narrow one point lead in the premier division of the SVG Football Federation’s National Club Championships.
One point behind the leaders is North Leeward Predators on 22 points.
In the closely contested race, Hope International has 18 points, and is holding down the third place, with Sion Hill on 16 points in fourth place. In fifth place is System Three on 15 points.
Three teams – Je Belle, SV United and Pride and Joy are all lumped on 13 points.
They are however separated by a goal differential. Je Belle, therefore is in sixth place; SV United – seventh and Pride and Joy – eighth.
Both Camdonia-Chelsea and 2017 champions – Avenues United have 12 points, but Camdonia- Chelsea is ahead on goal difference.
They occupy the ninth and tenth spots, respectively.
And the two units lodged in the relegation zone are Largo Height on 8 points and Bequia United, 7 points.
The final sets of matches will be played this weekend.
System Three plays Sion Hill this Friday from 6 pm at the Victoria Park, with North Leeward and Camdonia- Chelsea meeting thereafter.
On Saturday, SV United hosts Largo Height at the Chili Playing Field.
And Sunday’s fixtures will see Avenues United travelling to the Clive Tannis Playing Field in Bequia to face Bequia United from 2 pm, while at the Victoria Park, Je Belle and Pride and Joy play from 4 pm and BESCO-Pastures and Hope International square off from 6 pm.
Teams will go at each other when the second round resumes, following the hosting of the SVGFF Cup, which is a knock out format among the premier and first division outfits.
