Two centuries feature in women’s cricket
Two centuries highlighted last Saturdayâs lone match of the Womenâs 40-Over Competition at the London Playing Field.
Responsible for the healthy run scoring were two former West Indies players, Juliana Nero and Cordel Jack.
Nero slammed 14 fours and 5 sixes in her knock of 146, as she bolstered Garifuna Starsâ innings of 270. Nyasha Williams contributed 47.
Bowling for United Survivors Laverne Homer had 2 for 42 and Samantha Lynch, 2 for 47.
Jack then raised her triple figures, as she racked up 107. Jackâs innings contained 8 fours and 8 sixes and Homer chimed in with 47, but United Survivors packed it in at 218.
Williams and Nero showed their all-round abilities, as they took 3 for 33 and 2 for 38, respectively, as Garifuna Stars won by 52 runs.
Persons close to womenâs cricket have stated that it is the first time a century was scored on either side in a national womenâs cricket competition.
