Blue Marlins quintet stands out at Invitational Swim Championships
Five young swimmers from the Blue Marlins Swim Club showed their worth at the 2017 Scotia Bank Invitational Swim Championships at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre, February 10 to 12.
Topping the list of wins was Zariel Nelson, who gathered eight gold and one bronze.
Nelson, in the process, was crowned Sprint Champion for the girlsâ 7-8 age category.
Meanwhile, Kennice Greene claimed three gold, four silver and a pair of bronze medals, as she again was in her usual dominating form. Greene was the winner of the girlsâ 9 to 10 age grouping.
Also bringing glory to Blue Marlins was Matthew Ballah, who pouched six gold and three silver medals, en route to winning the boysâ 6 to 8 age bracket.
Likewise, Nicholas De Freitas was the top performer in the boysâ 6 and under, securing one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Also, Seth Byron earned two golds and six silvers, in his capture of the boysâ 6 and under and was also rewarded with the title of the age groupâs Sprint Champion.
The Black Sands Swim Squad was the overall winners of the championships.
Other participating clubs were the Bequia Swim Club, the Grenfin Swim Club from Grenada as well as Torpedoes Swim Club from Grenada.
