Two centuries highlight Sunday’s action in NLA NW 20/20 competition

Hyron Shallow and Casmond Walters both plundered centuries last Sunday to lead Team Rivals to a crushing eight-wicket win over Smashers in Group B of the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams 20/20 cricket competition.

Shallow and Walters were not out 102 each, as Team Rivals posted 237 for 2 from their 20 overs.

Shallow blasted 12 fours and 3 sixes from 67 balls, while Walters hit 4 fours and 11 sixes from just 39 balls, as the two shared in a third-wicket partnership of 202.

In reply, Smashers were shot out for 83 in 13.1 overs. Olanzo Jackson – 4 for 15, Ronel Jeffrey – 2 for 15 and Rayshorn Durrant – 2 for 24 were the main wicket takers for Team Rivals.

The other Group B saw Police registering a 92-run win over Radcliffe Too at Arnos Vale One.

Half-centuries by Kenneth Dember – 54 and Parnell Browne – 53, helped Police to 179 for 8 from their 20 overs. Canute Lewis – 3 for 42 and Nickron Mc Dowall – 2 for 38 were Radcliffe Too’s most successful bowlers.

Kengsley Joseph hit 36, in Radcliffe Too’s response of 87.

Meanwhile, in Group A, defending champions Flow Radcliffe humbled Owia Stars by 27 runs at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Romano Pierre stroked 3 fours and a half-dozen sixes in his 86 and Andy Harper made 30, to see Radcliffe to 151 for 3 from 18 overs. Shem Browne was Owia Stars’ best bowler, taking 2 for 36.

Owia Stars ended their run chase at 114. Dean Browne made 25, Emron Lorriane – 25 and Rohan Lavia – 24.
