Nar Fren Dem pip High Park to win CNA title
Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem oozed out the Cane End Netball Association (CNA) title, beating High Park by a slender one-goal margin last Sunday at the Cane End Government Schoolâs hard court.{{more}}
Nar Fren Dem led in all quarters, progressively increasing the margin with each quarter.
It was 13-10 at the end of the first quarter and Nar Fren Dem stayed ahead 26-19 at the half way mark.
By the end of the third quarter, Nar Fren Dem had a comfortable five-goal cushion, with a 36-31 score-line.
A late surge by High Park United brought the match to a nervy end, as time was called while Skiddy Francis-Crick was making a shot for her team.
The score sheet then revealed that Nar Fren Dem won by the slimmest of victories, 50-49.
Tameisha Matthews poured in 27 of 44 attempts and Jessica Lavia had 23 of 35, to make up Nar Fen Demâs half a century of goals.
And, for High Park, Skiddy Francis-Crick scored all 49 goals from 53 attempts.
Before the competitionâs decider, Francis Combine had a 35-20 win over MPESCO.
High Park was adjudged the most disciplined team in the seven-team competition.
The other teams which contested were QUESCO, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble and Glenside Ball Blazers.(RT)
